The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The day of Arafah, the day of sacrifice, and the days of tashriq are our festival, the people of Islam. They are days of eating and drinking."
حدثنا هناد حدثنا وكيع عن موسى بن علي عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ يوم عرفة ويوم النحر وأيام التشريق عيدنا أهل الإسلام وهي أيام أكل وشرب
[Its chain of transmission is hasan]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Fasting, chapter on fasting during the days of Tashriq, no. 2419, from the hadith of Waki with this same wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 2100, as did Ibn Hibban (al-Ihsan) no. 3594, and Hakim, 1/434, saying it meets the standard of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him.There are also reports on this subject from Ali [mentioned earlier in the sourcing of hadith no. 772], Saad [Ahmad, 1/169, 174], Abu Hurairah [Ibn Majah, no. 1719], Jabir [we could not locate it], Nubaysha [Muslim, no. 1141], Bishr bin Suhaym [Ibn Majah, no. 1720, and Ibn Khuzayma, no. 2960], Abdullah bin Hudhafa [Ahmad, 3/450], Anas [Daraqutni, 2/211, no. 2284], Hamza bin Amr Aslami [Ahmad, 3/494], Kaab bin Malik [Muslim, no. 1142], Ayesha [Bukhari, no. 1997, 1998], Amr bin Aas [Abu Dawud, no. 2418], and Abdullah bin Amr [Nasai in al-Kubra, 2/171, no. 2904].
