The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade fasting on two days, the day of Adha and the day of Fitr.
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا عبد العزيز بن محمد عن عمرو بن يحيى عن أبيه
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن صيامين يوم الأضحى ويوم الفطر
Its isnad is sahih, and it is agreed upon. Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Fasting, chapter on fasting on the day of Fitr, hadith: 1991, and Muslim in the Book of Fasting, chapter on the prohibition of fasting on the two Eid days, hadith: 141/827, from the hadith of Amr bin Yahya, through this same chain.On this subject there are also narrations from Umar [previously mentioned: 771], Ali [Ahmad: 1/94, and Ibn Khuzayma, hadith: 2147], Ayesha [Muslim, hadith: 1140], Abu Hurairah [Muslim, hadith: 1138], Uqba bin Amir [coming up: 773], and Anas [Daraqutni: 2/211, hadith: 2284].
