Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Purification, chapter "There is no wudu except from hadath," hadith no. 515, from the hadith of Waki, through the same route. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih (1/18, hadith no. 27), as did Ibn Jarud (2). See also the hadith that follows.
