I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a drink was brought to him. He drank from it, then handed it to me, and I drank from it.I said, "I have committed a sin, so please ask forgiveness for me."He asked, "What is that?"She said, "I was fasting, but I broke my fast."He asked, "Was it a fast you were making up?"She replied, "No."He said, "Then it does not harm you."

[Daif]. Ibn Abu Shayba also narrated it (30/3) from Abu Ahwas through him, and it is in Sunan al-Kubra by Nasai, no. 3306, by the same route. Baghawi narrated it in Sharh al-Sunnah (6/370, 371), no. 1813, by the route of Tirmidhi through him. Harun, the son of Umm Hani, is majhul (Taqrib). The hadith has daif corroborating narrations in Hakim (1/439), Abu Dawud, no. 2456, and others.On this subject there is also a narration from Abu Saeed [Bayhaqi 4/279 and Tabarani in Awsat 4/152, no. 3264] and from Ayesha [coming at 734].
