The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the first night of the month of Ramadan arrives, the devils and the rebellious jinn are chained up, the gates of the Fire are closed so that not a single gate remains open, and the gates of Paradise are opened so that not a single gate remains closed. A caller cries out, 'Seeker of good, come forward! Seeker of evil, hold back!' And Allah has those whom He frees from the Fire, and that happens every night."
[Hasan] Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Fasting, chapter on what has been said about the excellence of the month of Ramadan, no. 1642, from Abu Kurayb with the same wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, 3/185, no. 1883, as did Ibn Hibban (al-Ihsan), no. 3426, but its chain is daif. It has many corroborating narrations in Bukhari, no. 1899, and Muslim, no. 1079, and elsewhere. On this subject there are also narrations from Abdul-Rahman bin Awf [Ibn Majah, no. 1328], Ibn Masud [I did not find it], and Salman [Ibn Khuzayma, no. 1887].
