The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a man performs ablution well and then sets out for the prayer, with nothing driving him out," or he said, "with nothing motivating him except the prayer itself, he does not take a single step except that Allah raises him a degree by it or removes a sin from him by it."
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا أبو داود قال أنبأنا شعبة عن الأعمش سمع ذكوان
عن النبي ﷺ قال إذا توضأ الرجل فأحسن الوضوء ثم خرج إلى الصلاة لا يخرجه أو قال لا ينهزه إلا إياها لم يخط خطوة إلا رفعه الله بها درجة أو حط عنه بها خطيئة
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Muslim also reported it in the Book of Mosques, in the chapter on the virtue of praying the prescribed prayers in congregation, etc., hadith no. 272/649, from the hadith of Shubah. And Bukhari, hadith no. 477, from the hadith of Amash, with the same wording. It is also found in Musnad Abu Dawud Tayalisi, hadith no. 2414.
