The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that mosques be built in the neighborhoods, kept clean, and perfumed.
حدثنا محمد بن حاتم المؤدب البغدادي البصري حدثنا عامر بن صالح الزبيري هو من ولد الزبير حدثنا هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
أمر رسول الله ﷺ ببناء المساجد في الدور وأن تنظف وتطيب
[Sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in Kitab al-Salah, in the chapter on establishing mosques in houses, no. 455, with a sahih chain from Hisham bin Urwa with this wording. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 1292, as did Ibn Hibban (al-Ihsan), no. 1632, from the hadith of Hisham with this wording.Amir is discarded, but Zaida and others corroborated him.
