The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abu Bakr, and Umar would perform the Eid prayer before the sermon, then they would deliver the sermon.
حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عبيد الله هو ابن عمر بن حفص بن عاصم بن عمر بن الخطاب عن نافع
كان رسول الله ﷺ وأبو بكر وعمر يصلون في العيدين قبل الخطبة ثم يخطبون
Agreed upon (Bukhari and Muslim). Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Two Eids, chapter on the sermon after the Eid prayer, no. 963, and Muslim, no. 888, from the hadith of Abu Usama Hammad bin Usama, transmitted through him. On this subject there are also narrations from Jabir [Bukhari, no. 958, and Muslim, no. 885] and Ibn Abbas [no. 959, and Muslim, no. 886].
