[Its chain of transmission is extremely daif] Bayhaqi related it 3/176 from the hadith of Maarik with this same chain, and the hadith was declared daif by Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah 4/221.Hajjaj bin Nasir is daif, and likewise his teacher, and Abdullah bin Saeed is discarded as a narrator. On this subject there are reports from Ibn Umar and others found in Bayhaqi and elsewhere, and the hadith under discussion was related by Ibn Jawzi in Ilal Mutanahiya 1/460 from the hadith of Tirmidhi with this same chain.
