Sufyan Thawri reported,

If one performs qunut in the dawn prayer, that is good, and if one does not perform qunut, that is also good. He preferred not to perform qunut, and Ibn Mubarak did not consider qunut in the dawn prayer to be appropriate.

قال أبو عيسى هذا حديث حسن صحيح والعمل عليه عند أكثر أهل العلم و

إن قنت في الفجر فحسن وإن لم يقنت فحسن واختار أن لا يقنت ولم ير ابن المبارك القنوت في الفجر
