The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is able to die in Medina, let him die there, for I will intercede for whoever dies in it."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا معاذ بن هشام حدثني أبي عن أيوب عن نافع
قال رسول الله ﷺ من استطاع أن يموت بالمدينة فليمت بها فإني أشفع لمن يموت بها
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Pilgrimage Rites, in the chapter on the merit of Madinah, no. 3112, through the hadith of Muaz bin Hisham, with this wording, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1031. The hadith has corroborating narrations.There is also a narration on this subject from Subayah bint Harith al-Aslamiyyah [Tabarani in Al-Kabir, 24/924, no. 747].
