The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Were it not for the migration, I would have been a man from the Ansar."By the same chain of narration, the Prophet ﷺ said, "If the Ansar were to take a valley or a mountain pass, I would go with the Ansar."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا أبو عامر عن زهير بن محمد عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل
قال رسول الله ﷺ لولا الهجرة لكنت امرأ من الأنصار وبهذا الإسناد عن النبي ﷺ قال لو سلك الأنصار واديا أو شعبا لكنت مع الأنصار
[Sahih] Ahmad narrated it: 5/137, from Abu Amir, with a hasan sanad, and the hadith has very many corroborating narrations.Hadith, "If the people were to follow a valley... etc," its sanad is hasan, and the hadith has very many corroborating narrations.
