After the dawn prayer, one of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ passed away, and he prostrated. He was asked, "Do you prostrate at this hour?"He replied, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not say, 'When you see a sign, prostrate'? And what sign is greater than the passing of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ?"
حدثنا عباس العنبري حدثنا يحيى بن كثير العنبري أبو غسان حدثنا سلم بن جعفر وكان ثقة عن الحكم بن أبان عن عكرمة قال قيل
بعد صلاة الصبح ماتت فلانة لبعض أزواج النبي ﷺ فسجد فقيل له أتسجد هذه الساعة فقال أليس قد قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا رأيتم آية فاسجدوا فأي آية أعظم من ذهاب أزواج النبي ﷺ
