The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you performs ablution well and then sets out heading to the mosque, let him not interlace his fingers, for he is in a state of prayer."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا الليث عن ابن عجلان عن سعيد المقبري عن رجل
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا توضأ أحدكم فأحسن وضوءه ثم خرج عامدا إلى المسجد فلا يشبكن بين أصابعه فإنه في صلاة
[Hasan] Ibn Majah recorded it in Iqamat al-Salawat, chapter on what is disliked during prayer, no. 967, from the hadith of Ibn Ajlan, with this same wording. He explicitly stated that he heard it directly, according to Tabarani in al-Kabir, in the version of Sufyan Thawri. There is another route for it in Abu Dawud, no. 562.A man, he is Abu Thumamah al-Hannat, and from his route Abu Dawud recorded it, no. 562, and others as well. Its chain is hasan, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 441, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 316.
