Ayesha reported,

Someone asked Aisha, "Which of the Prophet's ﷺ companions was most beloved to him?"She replied, "Abu Bakr."He asked, "Then who?"She said, "Then Umar."He asked, "Then who?"She said, "Then Abu Ubayda bin al-Jarrah."He asked, "Then who?"She remained silent.

دثنا أحمد الدورقي: حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم عن الجريري، عن عبد الله بن شقيق قال:

قلت لعائشة

أي أصحاب النبي ﷺ كان أحب إليه؟ قالت: أبو بكر، قلت: ثم من؟ قالت: ثم عمر، قلت: ثم من؟ قالت: ثم أبو عبيدة ابن الجراح، قلت: ثم من؟ فسكتت.
