Ayesha reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ could not sleep one night after his arrival in Madinah, and he said, "I wish a righteous man would stand guard over me tonight."She said, While we were in that state, we heard the rattling of weapons, and he asked, "Who is this?"The man replied, "Saad bin Abu Waqqas."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "What has brought you here?"Saad answered, "A fear for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered my heart, so I came to keep watch over him."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then prayed for him and went to sleep.He said, This is a hasan sahih hadith.

حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا الليث عن يحيى بن سعيد عن عبد الله بن عامر بن ربيعة أن

عائشة قالت

سهر رسول الله ﷺ مقدمه المدينة ليلة قال ليت رجلا صالحا يحرسني الليلة قالت فبينما نحن كذلك إذ سمعنا خشخشة السلاح فقال من هذا فقال سعد بن أبي وقاص فقال له رسول الله ﷺ ما جاء بك فقال سعد وقع في نفسي خوف على رسول الله ﷺ فجئت أحرسه فدعا له رسول الله ﷺ ثم نام قال هذا حديث حسن صحيح
