I never heard the Prophet ﷺ offer both his parents as ransom for anyone except Saad. I heard him say on the day of Uhud, "Shoot, Saad, may my father and mother be your ransom."He said, "This is an authentic hadith."
حدثنا بذلك محمود بن غيلان حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن سعد بن إبراهيم عن عبد الله بن شداد
ما سمعت النبي ﷺ يفدي أحدا بأبويه إلا لسعد فإني سمعته يقول يوم أحد ارم سعد فداك أبي وأمي قال هذا حديث صحيح
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Bukhari narrated it in the book of jihad and campaigns, chapter of the shield and one who shields himself with his companion's shield, hadith no. 2905, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, and Muslim narrated it, hadith no. 2411, from the hadith of Saad bin Ibrahim, with the same wording.
