The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established bonds of brotherhood among his companions. Ali came with tears in his eyes and said, "Messenger of Allah, you have paired your companions as brothers but have not paired me with anyone."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "You are my brother in this world and the next."

Its isnad is daif. Hakim narrated it in 3/14 through Ali bin Qadim, with the same wording, and Dhahabi said, "Jamee is accused, and Hakeem bin Jubayr is daif."There is also a version on this topic from Zayd bin Abu Awfa [Tabarani 5/220–221, no. 5146].
