The Messenger of Allah ﷺ rose one morning and called for Bilal. He said, "Bilal, how have you preceded me into Paradise? I have never entered Paradise without hearing the rustle of your footsteps ahead of me. Last night I entered Paradise and heard your footsteps ahead of me. I came upon a lofty square palace of gold and asked, 'Whose palace is this?' They said, 'It belongs to a man from the Arabs.' I said, 'I am an Arab, whose palace is this?' They said, 'It belongs to a man from Quraysh.' I said, 'I am from Quraysh, whose palace is this?' They said, 'It belongs to a man from the nation of Muhammad.' I said, 'I am Muhammad, whose palace is this?' They said, 'It belongs to Umar bin Khattab.'"Bilal replied, "Messenger of Allah, I have never given the call to prayer without praying two rakahs afterward, and no event has ever broken my ablution without my performing ablution again at once, and I considered that I owed Allah two rakahs for it."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is on account of these."
