The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah is Modest and Generous. He is too modest to let a man raise his hands to Him and then return them empty and disappointed."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا ابن أبي عدي قال أنبأنا جعفر بن ميمون صاحب الأنماط عن أبي عثمان النهدي
عن النبي ﷺ قال إن الله حيي كريم يستحيي إذا رفع الرجل إليه يديه أن يردهما صفرا خائبتين
Its chain is daif. Ibn Majah narrated it in the chapters on Supplication, section on Raising the Hands in Supplication, no. 3865, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Abu Adi, and Abu Dawud narrated it, no. 1488, from the hadith of Jafar bin Maymun, through him, and he is daif, most scholars having graded him daif. The hadith has corroborating narrations found in Ibn Hibban, no. 2400, and others.
