The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate at times of distress, "There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Wise. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the mighty Throne. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens and the earth, and Lord of the noble Throne."Muhammad bin Bashshar narrated to us, Ibn Abu Adi narrated to us, from Hisham, from Qatada, from Abu Aliyah, from Ibn Abbas, from the Prophet ﷺ, the same as this.
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا معاذ بن هشام حدثني أبي عن قتادة عن أبي العالية
أن نبي الله ﷺ كان يدعو عند الكرب لا إله إلا الله الحليم الحكيم لا إله إلا الله رب العرش العظيم لا إله إلا الله رب السموات والأرض ورب العرش الكريم حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا ابن أبي عدي عن هشام عن قتادة عن أبي العالية عن ابن عباس عن النبي ﷺ بمثله
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim], and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Remembrance and Supplication, the chapter on the supplication for distress, no. 2730, from Muhammad bin Bashshar, and Bukhari, no. 6345, 6346, from the hadith of Hisham Dastawai, with the same wording.There is also a version on this subject from Ali. Nasai narrated it in al-Kubra, nos. 10463–10476, through several routes, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2371, as did Hakim, 1/508, with Dhahabi concurring with him.
