It used to be counted that in a single sitting, before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would rise, he would say a hundred times, "My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Ever-Accepting of repentance, the Most Forgiving."
حدثنا نصر بن عبد الرحمن الكوفي حدثنا المحاربي عن مالك بن مغول عن محمد بن سوقة عن نافع
كان يعد لرسول الله ﷺ في المجلس الواحد مائة مرة من قبل أن يقوم رب اغفر لي وتب علي إنك أنت التواب الغفور
[Sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in the chapter on Witr, section on seeking forgiveness, no. 1516, from the hadith of Malik bin Mughul, and Ibn Majah, no. 3814, from the hadith of Muharibi with the same wording, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2459.
