The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever says when he leaves his house, 'In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, there is no power and no strength except with Allah,' it is said to him, 'You are taken care of and protected,' and Satan moves away from him."
[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the book of Manners, chapter on what one says when leaving one's house, no. 5095, and Nasai in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla, no. 89, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj through this route, but his explicit statement of having heard it directly was not established. Abdul-Majid bin Abdul-Aziz narrated it from him, saying, "I was told by Ishaq." Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (al-Ihsan), 2/95, no. 819, and it occurs in Mawarid Zaman, no. 2375, by mistake. The hadith has a corroborating mursal narration.
