The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been commanded to fight people until they say, 'There is no god but Allah.' Once they say it, their blood and wealth become protected from me, except by its right, and their reckoning is with Allah."Then he recited, "You are only a reminder. You are not over them a controller" [Ghashiyah 88:21–22].

قال رسول الله ﷺ أمرت أن أقاتل الناس حتى يقولوا لا إله إلا الله فإذا قالوها عصموا مني دماءهم وأموالهم إلا بحقها وحسابهم على الله ثم قرأ {إنما أنت مذكر لست عليهم بمصيطر}
[Sahih] Bukhari also reported it in the Book of Tafsir, chapter on the saying of the Almighty, "You are only a reminder. You are not a controller over them" [Ghashiyah 88:21–22], no. 4661, and Muslim, no. 2645, from the hadith of Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi with the same chain.
