I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Whoever is closely questioned in the reckoning is doomed."I said, "Messenger of Allah, but Allah says, 'As for the one who is given his record in his right hand, he will be reckoned with an easy reckoning' [Inshiqaq 84:7–8]."He replied, "That is merely the presentation."

سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول من نوقش الحساب هلك قلت يا رسول الله إن الله يقول {فأما من أوتي كتابه بيمينه} إلى قوله {يسيرا} قال ذلك العرض
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Softening of Hearts, Chapter: "Whoever Is Interrogated in the Reckoning Will Be Punished," Hadith no. 6536, from Ubaydullah bin Musa. Muslim narrated it, Hadith no. 2876, through the hadith of Uthman bin Aswad, with the same wording.
