The moon split during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bear witness." He said this is a hasan sahih hadith.
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا أبو داود عن شعبة عن الأعمش عن مجاهد
انفلق القمر على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فقال رسول الله ﷺ اشهدوا قال هذا حديث حسن صحيح
Muslim also narrated it in the Book of the Characteristics of the Hypocrites, Chapter on the Splitting of the Moon, no. 2801, from the hadith of Shubah with this chain, and it is also found in Musnad Abu Dawud Tayalisi, no. 1891.
