Shaybi reported,

Ibn Abbas met Kaab at Arafah and asked him about something, whereupon Kaab uttered a takbir so loudly that the mountains echoed back his voice. Ibn Abbas said, "We are the sons of Hashim."Kaab said, "Allah divided His vision and His speech between Muhammad and Musa. He spoke to Musa twice, and Muhammad saw Him twice."Masruq said, I went to Ayesha and asked her, "Did Muhammad see his Lord?"She replied, "You have said something that makes my hair stand on end."I said, "Wait a moment," and then I recited, "He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord" [Najm 53:18].She said, "Where are you being led astray? That was only Jibreel. Whoever tells you that Muhammad saw his Lord, or that he concealed anything he was commanded to convey, or that he knew the five matters about which Allah the Exalted said, 'Indeed, Allah has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain' [Luqman 31:34], has fabricated a tremendous lie. Rather, he saw Jibreel. He never saw him in his true form except twice, once at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary, and once at Jiyad, where he had six hundred wings filling the horizon."
