Abdullah bin Masud reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary, he said, "Whatever ascends from the earth and whatever descends from above comes to its end at this tree." He said that Allah granted him there three things that He had not granted to any prophet before him. The five daily prayers were prescribed for him, he was given the closing verses of Surah al-Baqarah, and the grave sins of his nation were forgiven, so long as they did not associate anything with Allah.Ibn Masud said regarding the verse "When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered it" [Najm 53:16], "The Lote Tree is in the sixth heaven."Sufyan said, "Moths of gold," and Sufyan gestured with his hand, trembling it.Someone other than Malik bin Mughul said, "At it ends the knowledge of created beings. They have no knowledge of what lies beyond it."
