The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How can I be at ease when the bearer of the Horn has placed the Horn to his lips, bowed his forehead, and inclined his ear, waiting for the command to blow, ready to blow it the moment he is ordered?"The Muslims asked, "What should we say then, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Say, 'Allah is sufficient for us, and what an excellent Guardian He is. We place our trust in Allah, our Lord.'"And sometimes Sufyan said, "Upon Allah we have placed our trust."
حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان عن مطرف عن عطية العوفي
قال رسول الله ﷺ كيف أنعم وقد التقم صاحب القرن القرن وحنى جبهته وأصغى سمعه ينتظر أن يؤمر أن ينفخ فينفخ قال المسلمون فكيف نقول يا رسول الله قال قولوا حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل توكلنا على الله ربنا وربما قال سفيان على الله توكلنا
[Its isnad is daif]. Ahmad narrated it (7/3), and Humaydi, no. 754, from Sufyan bin Uyayna through the same route. Part of it was mentioned earlier at no. 2431.Atiya is daif. The hadith has many daif corroborating narrations found in Ibn Hibban, no. 820, and Hakim (4/559), and others.The hadith of Amash is found in Ahmad (30/73).
