Muaz bin Jabal reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delayed from us one morning for the dawn prayer until we were almost able to see the disc of the sun. Then he came out hurriedly, the call to commence prayer was made, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led the prayer, keeping it brief.When he gave the closing salutation, he called out in a loud voice and said to us, "Stay in your rows as you are."Then he turned to face us and said, "I will tell you what kept me from you this morning. I rose during the night, performed ablution, and prayed what was decreed for me. Then I grew drowsy during my prayer and was overcome by sleep. Suddenly I found myself in the presence of my Lord in the most beautiful form.He said, 'Muhammad.'I said, 'At Your service, my Lord.'He said, 'What do the highest assembly dispute about?'I said, 'I do not know, my Lord.' He asked it three times.Then I saw Him place His palm between my shoulders until I felt the coolness of His fingertips between my chest. Then everything became clear to me and I knew.He said, 'Muhammad.'I said, 'At Your service, my Lord.'He said, 'What do the highest assembly dispute about?'I said, 'About the expiations.'He said, 'What are they?'I said, 'Walking on foot to congregational prayers, sitting in the mosques after the prayers, and performing ablution thoroughly in disagreeable conditions.'He said, 'Then about what?'I said, 'Feeding others, speaking gently, and praying at night while people sleep.'He said, 'Ask.'I said, 'O Allah, I ask You for the doing of good deeds, the abandonment of evil deeds, love of the poor, and that You forgive me and have mercy on me. When You intend to test a people, take me to You without being tested. I ask You for Your love, the love of those who love You, and the love of every deed that draws me near to Your love.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This is true, so study it and learn it."

عن معاذ بن جبل رضي الله عنه قال

احتبس عنا رسول الله ﷺ ذات غداة عن صلاة الصبح حتى كدنا نتراءى عين الشمس فخرج سريعا فثوب بالصلاة فصلى رسول الله ﷺ وتجوز في صلاته فلما سلم دعا بصوته فقال لنا على مصافكم كما أنتم ثم انفتل إلينا ثم قال أما إني سأحدثكم ما حبسني عنكم الغداة أني قمت من الليل فتوضأت وصليت ما قدر لي فنعست في صلاتي فاستثقلت فإذا أنا بربي تبارك وتعالى في أحسن صورة فقال يا محمد قلت لبيك رب قال فيم يختصم الملأ الأعلى قلت لا أدري رب قالها ثلاثا قال فرأيته وضع كفه بين كتفي حتى وجدت برد أنامله بين ثديي فتجلى لي كل شيء وعرفت فقال يا محمد قلت لبيك رب قال فيم يختصم الملأ الأعلى قلت في الكفارات قال ما هن قلت مشي الأقدام إلى الجماعات والجلوس في المساجد بعد الصلوات وإسباغ الوضوء في المكروهات قال ثم فيم قلت إطعام الطعام ولين الكلام والصلاة بالليل والناس نيام قال سل قل اللهم إني أسألك فعل الخيرات وترك المنكرات وحب المساكين وأن تغفر لي وترحمني وإذا أردت فتنة قوم فتوفني غير مفتون أسألك حبك وحب من يحبك وحب عمل يقرب إلى حبك قال رسول الله ﷺ إنها حق فادرسوها ثم تعلموها
