I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, shall I fight those of my people who have turned away, with the help of those who have come forward?" He gave me permission to fight them and ordered me to do so.When I left his presence, he asked about me, "What did the Ghutayfi do?" He was told that I had already set out. So he sent someone after me to bring me back. I returned to him while he was sitting with a small group of his companions, and he said, "Call the people to Islam. Whoever accepts Islam, accept it from him, and whoever does not accept Islam, do not be hasty until I instruct you further."Then there was revealed about Saba what was revealed. A man asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is Saba? Is it a land or a woman?"He replied, "It is neither a land nor a woman, but rather a man who fathered ten of the Arab tribes. Six of them headed south and four headed north. As for those who went north, they are Lakhm, Judham, Ghassan, and Amilah. As for those who went south, they are al-Azd, al-Ashariyyun, Himyar, Kindah, Madhhij, and Anmar."A man asked, "Messenger of Allah, and what is Anmar?"He answered, "Those from whom come Khatham and Bajilah."This was also narrated from Ibn Abbas from the Prophet ﷺ.
حدثنا أبو كريب وعبد بن حميد قالا أخبرنا أبو أسامة عن الحسن بن الحكم النخعي قال حدثني أبو سبرة النخعي
أتيت النبي ﷺ فقلت يا رسول الله ألا أقاتل من أدبر من قومي بمن أقبل منهم فأذن لي في قتالهم وأمرني فلما خرجت من عنده سأل عني ما فعل الغطيفي فأخبر أني قد سرت قال فأرسل في أثري فردني فأتيته وهو في نفر من أصحابه فقال ادع القوم فمن أسلم منهم فاقبل منه ومن لم يسلم فلا تعجل حتى أحدث إليك قال وأنزل في سبإ ما أنزل فقال رجل يا رسول الله وما سبأ أرض أو امرأة قال ليس بأرض ولا امرأة ولكنه رجل ولد عشرة من العرب فتيامن منهم ستة وتشاءم منهم أربعة فأما الذين تشاءموا فلخم وجذام وغسان وعاملة وأما الذين تيامنوا فالأزد والأشعريون وحمير وكندة ومذحج وأنمار فقال رجل يا رسول الله وما أنمار قال الذين منهم خثعم وبجيلة وروي هذا عن ابن عباس عن النبي ﷺ
