The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the final evening prayer surahs like "By the sun and its brightness" and others similar to it.
حدثنا عبدة بن عبد الله الخزاعي البصري حدثنا زيد بن الحباب حدثنا حسين بن واقد
كان رسول الله ﷺ يقرأ في العشاء الآخرة بالشمس وضحاها ونحوها من السور
[Its chain is hasan]. Nasai also recorded it (2/172, 173, 173, no. 1000, Book of Iftitah, Chapter on reciting in the last night prayer with "By the sun and its brightness" [Shams 91:1]) from the hadith of Husayn bin Waqid, through this chain.On this topic there is also a narration from Bara bin Azib [to come: 310], and from Anas, [which we did not find].
