The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about this verse, "He is the One who has revealed to you the Book, of which there are decisive verses..." [Aal-Imran 3:7], to the end of the verse.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you see those who follow whatever is unclear in it, those are the ones whom Allah has named, so beware of them."
حدثنا عبد بن حميد أخبرنا أبو الوليد الطيالسي حدثنا يزيد بن إبراهيم حدثنا ابن أبي مليكة عن القاسم بن محمد
سئل رسول الله ﷺ عن هذه الآية {هو الذي أنزل عليك الكتاب منه آيات محكمات} إلى آخر الآية فقال رسول الله ﷺ إذا رأيتم الذين يتبعون ما تشابه منه فأولئك الذين سماهم الله فاحذروهم
Bukhari also narrated it in the Book of Disputes, Chapter on the Speech of Disputants About One Another, hadith no. 2416, 2417, from the hadith of Abu Muawiya al-Darir, with this same wording. There is also a report on this topic from Ibn Abu Awfa [Bukhari, hadith no. 2088, 2675, 4551].
