Regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted, "Whether you disclose what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allah will bring you to account for it" [Baqarah 2:284], and His saying, "Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it" [Nisa 4:123], she said, "No one has asked me about these verses since I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about them."He said, "This is Allah's reproach of His servant for what afflicts him of fever and misfortune, even a possession he places in the sleeve of his shirt and then loses, causing him distress, until the servant emerges from his sins as pure red gold emerges from the bellows."
[Sahih]. See the following hadith. It is found in Musnad Abu Dawud Tayalisi, no. 1433, from Yazid bin Ibrahim, with the same chain. In all versions, it reads "beware of them" instead of "recognize them."
