Umar bin Khattab reported,

I said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "What if you were to take the station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer?" Then the verse was revealed, "And take the station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer" [Baqarah 2:125].

حدثنا أحمد بن منيع حدثنا هشيم أخبرنا حميد الطويل عن أنس قال

قال عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه

قلت لرسول الله ﷺ لو اتخذت من مقام إبراهيم مصلى فنزلت {واتخذوا من مقام إبراهيم مصلى}
