"Messenger of Allah, what if we were to pray behind the Maqam?" Then the verse was revealed, "And take from the standing place of Ibrahim a place of prayer" [Baqarah 2:125].

Bukhari also reported it in the Book of the Prophets, Chapter "Spirits Are Massed Troops," hadith no. 3339, 4487, and 7349, from the hadith of Amash through this same chain. It also appears in the Nuskhah of Waki from Amash, hadith no. 26.
