The Prophet ﷺ used to recite the Musabbihat before going to sleep, and he would say, "Among them is a verse better than a thousand verses."
حدثنا علي بن حجر أخبرنا بقية بن الوليد عن بحير بن سعد عن خالد بن معدان عن عبد الله بن أبي بلال
أن النبي ﷺ كان يقرأ المسبحات قبل أن يرقد ويقول إن فيهن آية خير من ألف آية
[Hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Manners, Chapter on What to Say When Going to Sleep, no. 5057, from the hadith of Baqiyyah with this wording, and he stated explicitly that he heard it directly, as found in Ahmad 4/128. It also has another route in Musnad Shamiyin by Tabarani, 3/391, no. 2531.
