The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to one of his companions, "Have you married, so-and-so?"The man replied, "No, by Allah, Messenger of Allah, I do not have the means to marry."The Prophet asked, "Do you not know 'Say, He is Allah, the One' [Ikhlas 112:1]?"He answered, "Yes."The Prophet said, "That is a third of the Quran."He asked, "Do you not know 'When the help of Allah comes, and the victory' [Nasr 110:1]?"He answered, "Yes."The Prophet said, "That is a quarter of the Quran."He asked, "Do you not know 'Say, O you disbelievers' [Kafirun 109:1]?"He answered, "Yes."The Prophet said, "That is a quarter of the Quran."He asked, "Do you not know 'When the earth is shaken' [Zalzalah 99:1]?"He answered, "Yes."The Prophet said, "That is a quarter of the Quran. Marry."
حدثنا عقبة بن مكرم العمي البصري حدثني ابن أبي فديك أخبرنا سلمة بن وردان
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لرجل من أصحابه هل تزوجت يا فلان قال لا والله يا رسول الله ولا عندي ما أتزوج به قال أليس معك قل هو الله أحد قال بلى قال ثلث القرآن قال أليس معك إذا جاء نصر الله والفتح قال بلى قال ربع القرآن قال أليس معك قل يا أيها الكافرون قال بلى قال ربع القرآن قال أليس معك إذا زلزلت الأرض قال بلى قال ربع القرآن قال تزوج
