While a man was reciting Surah al-Kahf, he noticed his riding animal becoming restless. He looked up and saw something like a mist or a cloud. He went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned this to him.The Prophet ﷺ said, "That was tranquility, which descended with the Quran," or he said, "which descended upon the Quran."
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا أبو داود أنبأنا شعبة عن أبي إسحق قال سمعت
بينما رجل يقرأ سورة الكهف إذ رأى دابته تركض فنظر فإذا مثل الغمامة أو السحابة فأتى رسول الله ﷺ فذكر ذلك له فقال النبي ﷺ تلك السكينة نزلت مع القرآن أو نزلت على القرآن

Agreed upon. Muslim also reported it in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers, chapter on the descent of tranquility upon the recitation of the Quran, hadith 795, from the narration of Abu Dawud Tayalisi, and Bukhari, hadith 3614, from the narration of Shubah, and it is also in Musnad Tayalisi, hadith 714.There is also a narration on this subject from Usayd bin Hudayr [Bukhari, hadith 5018, and Muslim, hadith 796].
