From his father, that the Prophet ﷺ said, "The thigh is part of the private area."He said, this is a hasan gharib hadith from this chain.
حدثنا واصل بن عبد الأعلى حدثنا يحيى بن آدم عن الحسن بن صالح عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل
عن أبيه عن النبي ﷺ قال الفخذ عورة قال هذا حديث حسن غريب من هذا الوجه
[Hasan] Tahawi also reported it in Maani Athar 1/475, and Mizzi in Tahzib Kamal 10/55, from the hadith of Hasan bin Salih through this route. Ahmad reported it in 3/478 from the hadith of Ibn Aqeel through this route, but he is daif. The hadith has very many corroborating narrations.Abdullah bin Jarhad was graded trustworthy by Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban.
