The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you is offered sweet basil, he should not refuse it, for it came out of Paradise."He said, this is a strange hadith which we know only through this chain, and we know of no one named Hannan except in this hadith. Abu Uthman al-Nahdi's name is Abdul-Rahman bin Mull. He lived during the time of the Prophet ﷺ but never saw him nor heard anything from him directly.
حدثنا محمد بن خليفة أبو عبد الله بصري وعمرو بن علي قالا حدثنا يزيد بن زريع عن حجاج الصواف عن حنان
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا أعطي أحدكم الريحان فلا يرده فإنه خرج من الجنة قال هذا حديث غريب لا نعرفه إلا من هذا الوجه ولا نعرف حنانا إلا في هذا الحديث وأبو عثمان النهدي اسمه عبد الرحمن بن مل وقد أدرك زمن النبي ﷺ ولم يره ولم يسمع منه

[Its chain is daif]. Abu Dawud narrated it in Al-Marasil, no. 501, from the hadith of Yazid bin Zuray, through this route. Hannan Asadi is mastur (of unverified status), and no one deemed him trustworthy except Ibn Hibban.
