The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe, and the believer is the one whom people trust with their lives and their wealth."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا الليث عن ابن عجلان عن القعقاع بن حكيم عن أبي صالح
قال رسول الله ﷺ المسلم من سلم المسلمون من لسانه ويده والمؤمن من أمنه الناس على دمائهم وأموالهم
[Sahih] Nasai also narrated it (8/104, 105, no. 4998) in the Book of Faith, chapter on the description of the believer, from Qutayba with the same wording. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (al-Ihsan, no. 180), and Hakim (1/10) said it meets the criteria of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him.Ibn Ajlan transmitted it using the ambiguous formula "an" (indicating a possible break in the chain). The hadith has many corroborating narrations, and taken together with them it is sahih.On this subject there are also narrations from Jabir [Muslim, no. 41], Abu Musa [see no. 2628], and Abdullah bin Amr [Bukhari, no. 10, and Muslim, no. 40].
