The Prophet ﷺ said concerning the verse "and he will be given foul water to drink, gulping it down" [Ibrahim 14:16–17], "It will be brought close to his mouth and he will recoil from it. When it is brought near, it will scorch his face and the skin of his scalp will fall away. When he drinks it, it will sever his intestines so that they pour out from his backside. Allah says, "and they are given scalding water to drink, so it severs their intestines" [Muhammad 47:15], and He says, "and if they call for relief, they will be given water like molten metal that scalds their faces. What a wretched drink" [Kahf 18:29]."
حدثنا سويد بن نصر، أخبرنا عبد الله بن المبارك، أخبرنا صفوان بن عمرو، عن عبيد الله بن بسر،
عن النبي ﷺ في قوله: {يسقى من ماء صديد يتجرعه} قال يقرب إلى فيه فيكرهه فإذا أدني منه شوى وجهه ووقعت فروة رأسه فإذا شربه قطع أمعاءه حتى يخرج من دبره يقول الله: {وسقوا ماء حميما فقطع أمعاءهم} ويقول: {وإن يستغيثوا يغاثوا بماء كالمهل يشوي الوجوه بئس الشراب}
[Its chain is hasan]. Nasai narrated it in Kubra, no. 11263, from Suwayd bin Nasr. And Ahmad, 5/285, narrated the hadith of Ibn Mubarak with this chain, and it is found in his Zuhd (Zawaid Nuaym, no. 314). Hakim graded it sahih according to the standard of Muslim, 2/351, and Dhahabi agreed with him.Ubaydullah bin Bisr was deemed unknown by Ibn Hajar and others, while Ibn Hibban and Hakim considered him reliable. They differed over whether he was a companion, so his hadith is hasan.
