Abu Dharr reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said, "There are three whom Allah loves and three whom Allah detests.As for those whom Allah loves, the first is a man who comes to a people and asks them in the name of Allah, not by virtue of any kinship between him and them, and they refuse to give him anything. Then a man hangs back behind them and gives to him in secret, so that none knows of his gift except Allah and the one to whom he gave.The second is a group who travel through the night until, when sleep becomes more beloved to them than anything that could match it, they alight and lay down their heads. Then one of them rises and entreats Me with devotion and recites My verses.The third is a man who is in a military expedition and meets the enemy. His companions are routed, but he advances with his chest forward until he is killed or victory is granted to him.And the three whom Allah detests are the elderly fornicator, the arrogant poor man, and the oppressive rich man."Mahmud bin Ghaylan narrated to us, Nadr bin Shumayl narrated to us, from Shuba, something similar.

عن النبي ﷺ قال ثلاثة يحبهم الله وثلاثة يبغضهم الله فأما الذين يحبهم الله فرجل أتى قوما فسألهم بالله ولم يسألهم بقرابة بينه وبينهم فمنعوه فتخلف رجل بأعقابهم فأعطاه سرا لا يعلم بعطيته إلا الله والذي أعطاه وقوم ساروا ليلتهم حتى إذا كان النوم أحب إليهم مما يعدل به نزلوا فوضعوا رءوسهم فقام أحدهم يتملقني ويتلو آياتي ورجل كان في سرية فلقي العدو فهزموا وأقبل بصدره حتى يقتل أو يفتح له والثلاثة الذين يبغضهم الله الشيخ الزاني والفقير المختال والغني الظلوم حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا النضر بن شميل عن شعبة نحوه
