Sourcing. Its chain is sahih. Abu Dawud narrated it, no. 932, through the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, and Yahya Qattan's narration from him is to be understood as containing an explicit statement of having heard it directly. Daraqutni graded the hadith sahih (1/334), as did Ibn Qayyim and Ibn Hajar in Talkhis Habir (1/236), among others.On this topic there is also a hadith from Ali [Ibn Majah, no. 854] and from Abu Hurairah [Abu Dawud, no. 934], which has another route narrated by Hakim (1/223, 232, 233) and others.Muslim said, at the beginning of Kitab Tamyiz (p. 40), "All the narrations have come down through so many channels that it is certain the Prophet ﷺ said 'Amin' aloud." The hadith of Shuba is anomalous, as established by Abu Zura, Bukhari, and others.
