The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My intercession is for those of my community who commit major sins."Muhammad bin Ali said, Jabir said to me, "Muhammad, what need does someone who is not among those who commit major sins have for intercession?"
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا أبو داود الطيالسي عن محمد بن ثابت البناني عن جعفر بن محمد عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ شفاعتي لأهل الكبائر من أمتي قال محمد بن علي فقال لي جابر يا محمد من لم يكن من أهل الكبائر فما له وللشفاعة
[Sahih] Ibn Majah also narrated it in Zuhd, chapter on the mention of intercession, hadith: 4310, from the hadith of Jafar bin Muhammad, with the same wording. It is also in Musnad Tayalisi: 1669, and its chain is daif because of Muhammad bin Thabit, since he is daif (Taqrib). The hadith has many corroborating narrations, including the preceding hadith.
