Meat was once brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the foreleg was offered to him. He ate from it, for it was the cut he liked best. He took a bite from it, then said, "I will be the master of mankind on the Day of Resurrection. Do you know why that is?Allah will gather all people, the first of them and the last, on a single plain, where the caller's voice will reach them all and the eye will take them all in. The sun will draw near them, and people will be overcome with such distress and anguish that they can neither bear nor endure it.People will say to one another, 'Do you not see what has befallen you? Will you not look for someone to intercede for you with your Lord?'Then some will say to others, 'Go to Adam.'So they will come to Adam and say, 'You are the father of mankind. Allah created you with His own hand, breathed into you of His spirit, and commanded the angels, who prostrated to you. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in? Do you not see what has come upon us?'Adam will say to them, 'My Lord today is angry with an anger such as He has never been angry before, nor will He ever be angry the like of it again. He forbade me the tree, and I disobeyed. Myself, myself, myself. Go to someone else. Go to Nuh.'So they will come to Nuh and say, 'Nuh, you are the first of the messengers to the people of the earth, and Allah has named you a thankful servant. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in? Do you not see what has come upon us?'Nuh will say to them, 'My Lord today is angry with an anger such as He has never been angry before, nor will He ever be angry the like of it again. I once made a prayer against my people. Myself, myself, myself. Go to someone else. Go to Ibrahim.'So they will come to Ibrahim and say, 'Ibrahim, you are the prophet of Allah and His friend among the people of the earth. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?'He will say, 'My Lord today is angry with an anger such as He has never been angry before, nor will He ever be angry the like of it again. I told three lies.'" Abu Hayan mentioned them in the hadith. "'Myself, myself, myself. Go to someone else. Go to Musa.'So they will come to Musa and say, 'Musa, you are the messenger of Allah. Allah favored you over mankind with His message and His direct speech. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?'He will say, 'My Lord today is angry with an anger such as He has never been angry before, nor will He ever be angry the like of it again. I killed a soul I was not commanded to kill. Myself, myself, myself. Go to someone else. Go to Isa.'So they will come to Isa and say, 'Isa, you are the messenger of Allah, His word which He cast to Maryam and a spirit from Him. You spoke to people from the cradle. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?'Isa will say, 'My Lord today is angry with an anger such as He has never been angry before, nor will He ever be angry the like of it again.'" He mentioned no sin. "'Myself, myself, myself. Go to someone else. Go to Muhammad.'So they will come to Muhammad and say, 'Muhammad, you are the messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets. Allah has forgiven you your past and future sins. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?'So I will set out and come beneath the Throne, and I will fall in prostration before my Lord. Then Allah will open to me such praises and beautiful commendations of Him as He has not opened to anyone before me. Then it will be said, 'Muhammad, raise your head. Ask, and you shall be given. Intercede, and your intercession will be accepted.'I will raise my head and say, 'My Lord, my people. My Lord, my people. My Lord, my people.'He will say, 'Muhammad, admit those of your people who have no reckoning against them through the right gate of the gates of Paradise. They will share with others in the remaining gates.'"Then he said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, the distance between the two leaves of one of the gates of Paradise is like the distance between Makkah and Hajar, or between Makkah and Busra."
