A man said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I truly love you."He replied, "Consider carefully what you are saying."The man said, "By Allah, I truly love you."He replied again, "Consider carefully what you are saying."The man said a third time, "By Allah, I truly love you."So he said, "If you love me, then prepare armor against poverty, for poverty comes more swiftly to the one who loves me than a torrent rushing to its end."Nasr bin Ali narrated to us, saying, my father narrated to us, from Shaddad Abu Talha, something similar with the same meaning.

Its chain is daif. Rawh bin Aslam is daif. Baghawi narrated it in Sharh al-Sunnah, 14/268, hadith 4067, through Shaddad bin Saeed, and its chain is daif. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, hadith 2522. The hadith has daif corroborating narrations in Ahmad, 3/42, Hakim, 4/331, and Haythami in Majma al-Zawaid, 10/313, 314, and others.
