The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The son of Adam grows old, yet two things in him remain youthful, his craving for long life and his craving for wealth."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا أبو عوانة عن قتادة
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال يهرم ابن آدم ويشب منه اثنتان الحرص على العمر والحرص على المال
Agreed upon. Muslim reported it in the Book of zakat, Chapter on the dislike of greed for this world, hadith no. 1047, from Qutayba, with this wording. Bukhari reported it, hadith no. 6421, from the hadith of Qatada.
