The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Part of the excellence of a person's Islam is leaving alone what does not concern him."He said, this is a strange hadith. We do not know it from the narration of Abu Salama from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet ﷺ except through this chain.
حدثنا أحمد بن نصر النيسابوري وغير واحد قالوا حدثنا أبو مسهر عن إسمعيل بن عبد الله بن سماعة عن الأوزاعي عن قرة عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ من حسن إسلام المرء تركه ما لا يعنيه قال هذا حديث غريب لا نعرفه من حديث أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة عن النبي ﷺ إلا من هذا الوجه
[Its chain is daif]. Ibn Majah related it in the Book of Tribulations, chapter "Restraining the Tongue during Tribulation," hadith no. 3976, through the narration of Uzai with the same chain. Zuhri stated clearly that he heard it directly, as noted by Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (14/320). Ibn Hibban graded it sahih in Ihsan (229), and Nawawi graded it hasan in Arbain, though the majority graded it daif.
